Raffaella Mangiarotti, a Milanese architect and designer, is known for her minimalist yet functional approach to design. A graduate in architecture under Tomás Maldonado, she later earned a Ph.D. in design and is now a researcher at the Politecnico di Milano. Influenced by pioneering women like Eileen Grey and Charlotte Perriand, she focuses on creating meaningful, ergonomic, and aesthetically refined pieces.
Her career began with Marco Zanuso and Francesco Trabucco, later co-founding deepdesign with Matteo Bazzicalupo, designing for brands like Smeg. In 2011, she established her own studio, specializing in creative direction and furniture design. Her work is featured in museums such as MoMA and the Triennale di Milano, earning 43 international awards, including Red Dot and the IF Design Award. She has also served as a jury member for major design competitions and was an Ambassador of Italian Design from 2017 to 2024.
