Jupiter Armchair

In 1966, Pierre Guariche designed a collection centered around a single-block seat with soft, rounded contours. Featuring a swiveling high back, this armchair was inspired by the space age and advancements in materials, such as expanded polyurethane, bringing his vision to life.

Named Jupiter, the design quickly moved from concept to reality, appearing in the Meurop catalog less than a year after its initial sketch on October 24, 1966. As artistic director of the Belgian company from 1960 to 1968, Guariche described it in just one phrase: “The ultimate luxury armchair.”
