Utopia 3-door sideboard emperador ceramic stoneware top

THE CONCEPT
At the heart of the Utopia collection lies the doucine — a traditional moulding formed from two arcs, both concave and convex. This sculptural detail brings a distinctive wave-like form and technical complexity that sets the range apart. The gentle undulation softens and breaks up the linearity of the overall structure, transforming what could be rigid and impersonal into something fluid and expressive. This unique contouring subtly flares outward, lending each piece elegance and movement.

The collection expresses its character through multiple customization options — most notably the top surface, available in either Emperador ceramic stoneware or Verde marble. These finishes, paired with the refined silhouette of the units, contribute to Utopia’s bold yet understated identity.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
The Utopia range includes four pieces: a 3-door sideboard, a 4-door sideboard, an occasional unit, and a bar unit. All feature the signature doucine detailing on their fronts, tapering from a broader base to a narrower top, which subtly reduces the upper width and enhances their sculptural elegance.

A key design detail lies in the treatment of the front corners: a hollowed joint, visually carved from the body of the unit, adds architectural refinement. This effect is further emphasized by the contrast between dark-stained walnut veneer and natural varnished cherry, which continues along the four door edges and around the frame of the unit.

The top is inset slightly from the doors and sides, creating a recessed edge that adds depth and focus. This integral design draws attention to the natural beauty of the Emperador ceramic stoneware (6 mm thick) or Verde marble (20 mm thick), revealed most clearly when the doors are opened. The back panel, rising slightly above the top, is finished with the same vertical veneer and continues seamlessly to the base — an unexpected interior touch akin to the luxurious lining of an elegant jacket.

Inside, the units are finished in a rich chocolat lacquer, harmonizing with the exterior veneers. For added impact, the occasional unit can be equipped with optional interior lighting. A sensor-activated LED system illuminates the right-hand section from top to bottom, filtered through a smoked grey diffuser that reduces glare while maintaining full brightness. This effect is made possible by discreet second-generation miniature LEDs.

The doors are notably substantial, offering a sense of weight and permanence. Despite their size, they open smoothly and quietly, thanks to high-quality hinges and integrated soft-close damping.

  • The 3-door sideboard includes one single compartment and one double compartment.

  • The 4-door sideboard features two symmetrical double compartments.

  • Each sideboard is fitted with one internal shelf.

  • The occasional unit includes three internal shelves.
